THE 92nd ACADEMY AWARDS
What a night! The room erupted when Parasite won and became the first foreign language film to win Best Picture! Joaquin Phoenix gave an impassioned, beautiful speech, ending with a lyric from his brother River; “Run to the rescue with love and peace will follow.” Janelle Monae began the evening with a show-stopper, tearing up the stage with an electric performance. Eminem gave a rousing rendition of ‘Lose Yourself’ while Sir Elton sang and won Best Original Song. Billie Eilish broke hearts as we said goodbye to so many. Cynthia Erivo brought the house down. Renee Zellweger won Best Actress for her portrayal of Judy Garland. Hildur Gudnadóttir composer for The Joker, was the first woman to win an Oscar for original score. So many wonderful moments and a lot of them powered by music. But above all, the take home was that at the end of the day, it’s all about the story… So we salute the story tellers, whether it’s being sung, danced, written or captured on film. Cinema is what brings “we” to the equation.
Here are some LAB moments from inside the Kodak.
