Writing SUCCESSION
It’s been a major topic of conversation since the iconic show ended. The super fans of the HBO show Succession are going over every tiny detail of the final episode and dipping into past seasons. Then there are the people who are just happy it’s over. Every one has an opinion. Countless newspapers and magazines have spent endless column inches on dissecting the drama.
There is a joy placing the acting, writing and direction under a microscope. Which ever side of the fence you sit, there is no denying the magnificence of the writing. Amid the Hollywood writers strike, we felt like it was a good time to give credit where credit is due. Writers give us our myths and our role models or as in the case of Succession, a cautionary lesson in how not to behave as a human being.
Spoiler alert to anyone who hasn’t finished the whole series or is yet to begin.

Writer Jesse Armstrong brings a Shakespearean quality to Succession. As a tragedy, it was never going to end well. The finale reduces the three siblings to their childhood selves. Logan may be gone but the damage he inflicted was fatal. In a way, it was always going to come to this.
